About the event
European Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships 2025
The event will gather top players from across Europe under the auspices of the European Chess Union and organized by the Kosovo Chess Federation.
This will take place in the vibrant capital of Kosovo, Prishtina at the luxurious Hotel Emerald.
Event Overview
The championship runs from 27 November to 1 December 2025 and features two main tournaments, open to all players representing ECU federations, regardless of rating or title.
Rapid Chess Championship
28–29 Nov, 11 rounds, 15+10 time control
Blitz Chess Championship
30 Nov, 13 rounds, 3+2 time control

Accommodation
Players will be hosted at the official venue, Hotel Emerald in Prishtina, with special rates arranged for participants. Convenient airport transfers from Prishtina International “Adem Jashari” to the hotel are available for just €20 return. For international guests requiring entry permits, the Organizing Committee will provide official visa support and invitations upon request.
Chess players who hold a Schengen visa do not need an entry visa for Kosovo.
Regulations
The European Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships 2025 will be conducted under the FIDE Laws of Chess, the FIDE General Regulations for Competitions, and the ECU Tournament Rules.
